day 41: ULAANBAATAR. Or Ulan Bator, or however many other ways there are to spell it. The final approach: beginning at 5am, with a long day of driving ahead of us. Little did we know exactly how long.

Half way across Mongolia, reflecting on the trip so far and the challenges to come. Not realised at time of filming: the snapped leaf spring on the rear of the ambulance.

Renegades arrive in Mongolia, one man down. But not for long. After picking up John in Olgii, we head east again. Fasten your seatbelts; next episode coming shortly.
Mission successful
Renegades crossed the finish line on September 2nd at 9pm, after a tough final day: 13 hours behind the wheel. Mongol films coming soon!

Damage report, Bayankhongor
Seems like every day we have a new issue.
Front left shock: seal blown, oil gone
Rear right suspension: leaf spring snapped, replaced with homemade rubber pad
Gearbox: stick disconnected, reconnected
Steering column: linkage snapped. Replaced with homemade. Steering wheel upside down though.
Left mirror: flapping uselessly
Rear steps: not steps any more
CD player: functional, but no longer...
Cannonball run through Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Russia, and into Mongolia. Three days, four countries, three timezones, 2217 miles.
